There are several other suit schemes from other European areas, but
the French suits have replaced most of them these days. The German
(and Swiss, which shares the German Bells and Acorns but replaces
Hearts with Roses and Leaves with Shields) suits survive, but even
native German Skat decks are increasingly found in the French suits.
