They most likely coasted, hopping from icefree island to icefree island, the
timing is wrong for trying to walk, there was no gap in the icesheet at the
time of the earliest uncontrovertable sites, and people had boated to
Australia by this time(in fact, some think it was the same group that
settled both, some going north and others south)
