True. Some better examples already were given already, so let's just say: it's the same as Gernam "e" vs "a Umlaut".

Yahoo! annouced a new version some time ago, but this consisted mainly in increasing email storage, and nothing was said about encoding. Some people seem to get these special characters, some seem not. I can see them quite right, even when coming from somebody else (but definitely not the cyrillic characters, alas !) I've just been fighting two days with my computer after getting ADSL (512K). Even if I have a quite up-to-date version of Norton AntiVirus, I got several times viruses and I had to restore the system. This even happened while I was trying to update my system from Windows Update, to improve my security level ! So I'm getting really tired of it. (This didn't happen when I used a low speed connexion). I put firewalls everywhere, but I might as well have sung 'Ave Maria', for what it was worth. I also downloaded Mozilla, but I don't completely master it yet. Also, I'd like to get list messages in one mailbox, and others in another one, that's the only reason why I'm using Yahoo at the time. There surely is something more clever to do, but wasting two days is already not bad, I think I'll have a break now :-D ===== Philippe Caquant "High thoughts must have high language."
