Exactly. Actually, I made a slight typo; the X-SAMPA should have been
[N_!\et_>a] (with a backslash). [!] by itself is "downstep", but it doesn't
make sense to have a velar nasal articulated simultaneously with a downstep
anyway.
Things like this make me want to just start using APA for everything, and
include a link to http://www.io.com/~hmiller/lang/APA.html (since I'm used
to typing in APA for my conlang documentation; all those new Zireen
languages that haven't been getting very far quickly enough at least have
well-documented pronunciations of words in IPA now!) In APA, the Nikta call
themselves [N^^!et`a], and their language [N^^!et`ak`!m\l].
