Bat Sounds/Phonology Redux

So, some of you may recall my post some weeks ago about bat sounds and
phonology. I got lots of help, but now another thought has occurred to
me. Clicks. Assuming that intelligent beings evolved from bats would
retain their sonar, clicks would, I think, be part of their language.
So, now, I'm trying to figure the best way to represent them.
I'm sure there is at least one African language that has clicks, but I
can't remember how they're displayed. I was thinking either, " * " or "
! " or possibly even, " ¡ ". Suggestions?
Thanks,
Jim
