But I wonder if there's a problem with their estate/copyright matters etc.??
That is the case with W.C. Fields' films, and IIRC Chaplin's.  In the US we
used to see the occasional MB movie on late-night TV, or in theaters that
specialized in "classic" films, but not lately; at least not out here in the
sticks.

It could also be that their material is no longer PC, or pokes too much fun
at religio/politico matters and other public idiocies that are currently in
fashion.
