PfaEdit and Unicode questions

Hey.

I have a question for the PfaEdit and Unicode people. I have sets of
outline characters for the Futhark (Unicode 16A0-16FF) and the Deseret
Alphabet (Unicode 10400-1044F) which I created using PfaEdit. How do I
create usable Unicode fonts from them? And just how do I use Unicode
fonts? Is it possible to just type them in? In case it helps, I have a
Macintosh G4 running OS X (10.2.6), and a G4 Powerbook, also running OS
X. The version of Word I'm running (no, it's not an option yet to chuck
Word) is version X, and it's supposed to be Unicode capable.

Thanks.
