If I understand you correctly I would have to say, "No, they don't
contrast, since /h/ doesn't exist in Senjecas."
In going through my dictionary I only discovered six words with the
combination "yhi," i.e. /j_0i/.
It's been a hard sound for me to acquire. I'm still working on it.
I
have to remember to place my tongue in the "y" position, but not
voice
it. It's very easy to slip into the "h" position. One problem is
that with both sounds the lips take the position of the following
vowel (especially when rounded), at least in my experience.
And thank you for clearing up the "/l_0/ vs. /K/" problem for me.
