Well, one of the two reasons is exactly what you just mentioned -- a
butchered form of a natlang. The other more important reason is my
experience as an American, a feeling (stemming from cynicism obviously)
of my country trying to ruling the world in at least one sense...
And the fact that I'm not an American; I'm a Texan. ;]

Another reason I'm more skeptical as ever about IAL's, though Esperanto
alone shows some real promise. It impresses many more than it offends,
or it will at least.
