That is a common response to pidgins & creoles in general, i.e. "pidgin is a debased version of our mother/father/parent-tongue", "pidgin/creole is babytalk," etc.

And my polyglot-fiend friend Yuri Mayakovski/Ure Meyer-Kaufser loves the idea (he has been reaaally bugging me to adopt some ideas of his regarding "elliptical syntax" like having no copula, infinitive is not stated - it is implied & understood in context, use of anaphora rather than correlatives for recursion, etc.). czHANg
