Did you read my post the other day relaying the detailed
description of Nazi and Soviet economics given by my
friend? His conclusion, based on much actual study, is
that Nazi Germany basically a capitalist society, and the
original socialist instincts were squelched almost immediately
after Hitler came to power. Before 1933, the Socialist wing
of the party was lead by three brothers. Do you want to know
what happened to them by 1934? Gregor was shot for, quote, "the
cardinal sins of democracy and liberalism", Otto fled to
Canada, and I don't know what happened to the third. Socialism
was never very popular in the South where Hitler had his power-
base.
