French "je ne suis qu'un étudiant" also implies a bit of self-deprecation, but more in a sense of apology or justification: "I cannot know that yet, I'm just an undergrad". "Je suis encore étudiant": "I'm still a student" is completely neutral. Christophe. Take your life as a movie: do not let anybody else play the leading role.
