Oh yes i forgot about that accent! My Chem teacher last last year talked like that. I think she was from Minnesota, and she would always say yes with a "ya". Another one is the Hawaiian pidgin accent that a lot of hawaiians use. Anyway, my Tagalog teacher last summer said that all of us students who were from this area spoke with what he called a "mexican" accent.
