TRANS: guess!

I have here a Spanish translation of a poem by a famous
English-speaking poet(ess). I'm sure someone will guess
who (s)he is... I'm giving you the Spanish version with
interlinears only, just to make it a bit more difficult
<he he he>...

Abbreviations:

PST = (perfect) past tense
IMP = imperfect past tense (~past continuous)
INF = infinitive
DAT = dative (morphologically = ACC)
ACC = accusative
(these last two are sometimes found in pseudo-
reflexive or middle voice constructions).


Cuando oí         al     docto   astrónomo,
when   hear.1sPST to+the learned astronomer

cuando me     presentaron   en columnas
when   1s.DAT present.3pPST in columns

las pruebas, los guarismos,
the proofs   the figures


cuando me     señalaron   los mapas y   los diagramas,

en el  húmedo místico aire de la  noche,
