Well, I guess comment is not so superfluous after all. :->
In the first omission, Tolkien is refuting the claim that myths (by extension,
any fictions) are mere lies (and as such Satanic in origin). In the second, he
talks about the creation of secondary worlds; the "great Artefact" is the Primary
World, which is not divine.
