Yes, always. And a point after each letter in acronyms, like
"O.T.A.N." ("NATO"), though I don't know if this is the same in other
natlangs :-m And when the acronym refers to something plural, you repeat
the letter: E.E.U.U. ("Estados Unidos", "United States").
Anyway, there are a lot of people that don't do all this
"pointing" nowadays. In fact, I don't use it at all usually, at least in
electronic media :-)
