Not having seen the map, I can't comment on the name
"ha-Yam ha-Tahhton"; but regarding "tikhon", I'm sorry,
but it means "central" or "middle". It comes from the
word "tokh", which means "within" and no way comes
even close to meaning "up" or "high".
