I was also rather taken aback at yer mug :-)
Perhaps it's that striped shirt? In Russia, it's part of the sailors'
uniform, and is often associated with the lower classes. In fact, the
stereotype is that if you see one in a 'matroska', he's probably drunk,
or either a sailor (though these are not really mutually exclusive). I
don't think anyone here would expect to see someone from beyond the Iron
Curtain in a 'matroska'...
