Odd. My wife has left-right confusion, but not east-west confusion.
If you point out North, she can identify East or West instantly without
thinking about it. But ask her "if north is up on the map, which way
is east?", and she has to stop and think (and possibly make Ls with her
thumbs and forefingers) before answering "right".
