I disagree - i think that, if we don't mind the biblical reference,
it's a good reference to have - from the standpoint of religions that
include the Babel story, what we're doing is fulfilling God's desires
for the human race. To use Tolkienic terminology, the Creator wants
linguistic diversity and as Subcreators we are helping keep that dream
alive.
