Well, the final a dropping isn't a problem at all. Lots of languages
drop final vowels, whether they're creaky or not. As for lowering of the
i... I'm not sure if that's a likely change because of creaky voice, but
if the m nasalises the preceding vowel then it's easily possible: nasal
vowels tend to get lowered, so i~ -> e~ could explain the change.
