Sorry i'm not actually being helpful, but i've experienced a change in the other way -- a vowel caused creaky voice. When i first started playing with my Goblin language, Gabwe, i kept on accidentally pronouncing the vowel i had expressly decided would be /E/ as /e/. While trying to force my mouth to keep an /E/ shape instead of an /e/ one, i ended up adopting creaky voice accidentally. Since then, Gabwe has had mandatory pervasive creaky voice. -Stephen (Steg) "/C_w/ ^sem^eilós uz"
