My apologies.  I can't control what goes on the list, anymore
than King Cnut, standing in the surf, can control the waves.
So if I've contributed inflammatory material to this thread, I'm
sorry.  Anger and disagreement are going to persist whether we have
a common language or not, clearly; I guess I'm just tired of
these debates, having just come from a Utopian Conference
where I heard some pretty madcap solutions to the ills of the world.
So I like to retreat into fantasy and dream and the joys of private
language making.  At least on this list.  There are plenty of others
which engage me furiously in the professional world and its ills.
And it does upset me to open a post and find two people squawking
indignantly at each other.  As Lars said, this is an inflammatory
subject.  But it's also a free world, so who am I to say you can't
debate it?  Sorry.
