Actually, more than a nice metaphor, I think it's a very accurate metaphor to
describe conlanging, at least my way of conlanging. Funny enough, I can compare
my conlanging activity with my cooking activity. As for conlanging, I like
creating grammars and phonologies, but lose interest when it comes to lexicon.
as for cooking, I like trying new recipes for one or two people, but I wouldn't
make a whole meal by myself. I hate staying too long in a kitchen.

Another common point: as for languages, I love to read grammars, know how
languages work, even if not speaking them actually. As for cooking, I love
reading recipes and watching cooking programmes (I love "Two Fat Ladies" :) ),
but I'm not so keen of trying the recipes myself (though I did once).

Definitely an accurate metaphor...
