Esperanto is one of those languages whose true spiffiness doesn't become apparent until you have learned enough to attain some little fluency, and see how people are actually using it. The contrast between the apparently tame and conventional descriptions of the language and the way it's used in practice is something that makes it far from dull, even from a conlanging point of view. -- Jim Henry http://www.esperanto-atlanta.org
