One little typographical point. In most languages using the Latin alphabet, a diaeresis when marking the fact that two vowels are not a diphthong is placed on the second vowel, not the first. There is one natlang exception that I know of (but I can't remember what it is :-) ). JRRT also didn't consistently do this in romanizing Quenya.
