I'm struggling through a book on phonology, which seems to touch
sporadically but deeply on syllabification:
Anderson & Durand 1987, "Explorations in Dependancy Phonology"
Publications in Language Sciences #26
Foris Publications, ISBN 90 6765 298 9
A section within the introduction, for example -- which makes my eyes glaze
over at the moment -- is full of "interesting" words and phrases like
infrasegmantal, silent ictus, ambi-dependancy, tonic movement, group head
and superfoot.
"Guaranteed to kill or cure", as they say! :-)
