Inuktitut (in Roman) uses 'q' for /q/ and 'ng' for /N/. The voiceless
lateral /K/ may be written 'hl' or '&'.
Fijian does use 'c' for /D/; it also uses 'b' for /mb/, 'd' for /nd/, 'q'
for /Ng/, 'v' for /B/, 'g' for /N/, and 'dr' (the only digraph) for /nr~/.
Vietnamese uses 'x' for /s/ today (it used to be /S/, I think), while 's' is
retroflex /s`/. The actual value of Mandarin Chinese (in Pinyin) 'x' is
/s\/, while 'sh' is /s`/.
I had plans for a conlang that used 'g' for /N/, 'd' for /t`/ and some other
things I don't remember. Its phonology was inspired by Dravidian and
Australian. Don't know what conculture/conrace I'll apply it to, if any.
