Well, I don't know that worship is work -- it doesn't fill like work to me.
Dublex has 'pus':

pus [Blend of Hindi /upiog/ (with initial /p-/ in Russian /primin/) and
Vulgar Latin /usare/, extant in English, Spanish, French, et al.]  use,
usage -- the application or employment of something for a purpose ("skilled
in the use of a spear")

So I think this might make a better compound than 'fab', "work":

devbinpus [church(god+building)+usage]  worship -- attend religious services

But the druids and others don't need buildings to worship in (nor do
Christians always, either;  I've been to a few sunrise services by the
ocean -- one nice thing about living on the East Coast).  So:

devsentpus [faith(god+emotion)+usage]  worship -- show religious devotion
to, as of a deity

OK.  Let's try this:

devsist [god+system] religion, faith -- an institution created to express
belief in a divinity or multiple deities

mirvissist [world+view+system] religion, faith -- a philosophy of life

So athiesm and Bhuddism are mirvissists only, where Christianity and Islam
are both devsists and mirvissists.

OK.  I'll try this:

devhunper [god+choice+person]  messiah, christ -- any expected deliverer

Which means Christ is now 'carsdevhunper'.
