Most Buddhists will agree with you on that point. Buddhism is often
considered as a "religion without a god" but it's more a 'philosophy of
life' as you pointed it out. You can even be a Christian Buddhist or a
Muslim Buddhist, as Buddhism says that you have the right to believe in
the god(s) you want (or even don't believe in any if you want, thus
Atheist Buddhists can also be found). You can without a problem
superpose Buddhism to your own beliefs, as everything that is about the
existence or god and morals are left to personal beliefs.
