True, true, but you still can't force people out of their dialectal
habits, no matter what language the word comes from. Not that I
disagree, it's a bit of a travesty to use "macaroni" (which
incidentally should be spelt "maccheroni") as an umbrella term for
all pasta (though I am adverse to using Italian plurals of Italian
words in English :)
