Ok, this is not conlang-related, but I had to chime in.
First, I have a friend who, I've heard, once rambled on for hours in German
while drunk. Second, last night I had a dream that I was friends with a
French exchange student, and he called his mom on the phone and wanted me to
say hi to her. But in the dream as in real life, I didn't speak French, and
on top of this I couldn't seem to speak above a whisper however hard I
tried! So I kind of muttered "Allo?" into the phone, but apparently she
didn't hear me because she didn't respond.
