I have the names of the characters somewhere -- they all mean
things like 'Wind of the Heaven King' or something similar. It
seems there's a tendency... Toriyama Akira named characters after
underwear in Dragon Ball (Bulma [buruma] 'underpants'? and in
English too -- Trunks and Bra) and names of food (_gohan_ is
a Japanese dish). And most characters in _Magic Knight Rayearth_
have names of car brands (Cefiro, Clef, Zagato, Alcione, Presea,
Ascot, Windom, etc.) -- the only ones with 'normal' names were
the main characters Fuu ('wind'), Umi ('sea') and Hikaru ('light').
And Mokona (that lovely white rabbit-like thing who only said
'pa pa pa' ;).
