Depending on your operating system, it may well enumerate your installed
fonts at boot time, which may well add a nontrivial delay during booting.
Likewise, applications walk through that enumeration at various times, and
that may make them slower to react. It's probably going to add
milliseconds here and there, but it may be rather many milliseconds, such
that it's noticable.
