I had forgotten that alemanic interjection, *pfuj !*
In Alsace, children sometimes get scolded for saying
*cacapfuj !* when they find something utterly
disgusting (spinach for ex). It's very expressive.

In French, there is *pouah !*, but nowadays people
would rather say *berk !*. *Fi !* is an ancient word,
now sometimes used to mock upper-class style (*fi
donc, ma chere !*)

In Norway, I heard *fy faen* (*faen* being the devil I
think), or even *fy faen i helvete* (helvete not
referring to the Swiss, but rather to hell).
