I think I empathize. My efforts to communicate with others about my conlangs (or about
their conlangs) often seem unsatisfying to me. I'm leaning toward a theory that conlanging,
like writing a personal journal or painting a painting, is such an individualistic activity that
communicating with others while the process is ongoing is very risky and can sometimes
spoil the fun.
Excessive communication with the outside world can be just plain distracting, too. Artists
and writers have long known the value of "going on a retreat" or simply disabling all the
communications devices in the house for a day or two. I do those things occasionally. Very
refreshing.
