Hmmm. I have a textbook of Malagasy, and I've worked
through about half of it. I'm not a linguist, but it doesn't seem
to be a trigger language to me, at least not the way the
Philippino languages work. The most interesting feature
is that the headword must be the subject in a relative clause,
so there are ways to mark the verb for active, passive, and
oblique.
In any case, Malagasy is an austronesian language, related
distantly to Tagalog et al. Are there any trigger languages
in families not related to the Philippines?
