Via Latin 'spiritus asper' & 'spiritus lenis' I assume. In English the
two Greek symbols are known as a "rough breathing" & a "soft breathing".
But in the context in which you use 'rude' and 'soft' we wouldn't say
'rough' and 'soft', but rather 'aspirated' and 'unaspirated'.
