That's a cool idea...I don't know either of the two you mentioned, but I
do know some Mansi and have plenty of information on Udmurt, Khanty, Mari,
Nenets and Selkup (not counting the Balto-Finnic languages, which everyone
knows, though even of that I know mostly about Votian (which I can speak a
bit) and I have information on Vepse and Karelian.
Hm. Say the Mari and the Udmurt together repelled the eastward advance of
the Russians...
