closed? That's what I heard. For the first 22 years of my life in the Philippines, I took a bath twice a day with cold water. I rarely had pimples because the pores are tightly closed, so the dust had a harder time getting in the pores. I moved here to Chicago last year, and as fall and winter came, I started to get lots of pimples! I wondered why at first, because I still got into the habit of taking a bath twice a day with cold water. It's not after some months that it dawned on me that this is precisely why I was having pimples. Washing the face in cold water really closes the pores, but in a cold and dry environment, it also leaves the skin really dry as to remove it of its natural protective cover, which is the oils that the skin has, so the skin becomes prone to infection. I started to put moisturizer on my face, and my pimples vanished! In a humid place, taking a bath with cold water is perfect since it closes the pores, but since the air is so humid, there is little chance of the skin's natural protective oils to be removed. This goes to show that we really have to adjust to the place where we are. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Send instant messages with Yahoo!
