No, I'm apparently wrong. Someone (Tim May?), whose mail I stupidly deleted,
informed us it refers to a weird phenomenon wherein an enbryo only has
paternal chromosomes due to dysfunction in the ovum's neucleus. In a sensible
world, the preceeding sentence wouldn't have had anything to do in a Germanic
language. Of course, in a such world, "androgeny" would have been connected
to "androgen" and "androgenic", so the sentence wouldn't have been needed at
all, act'ly.
