I have no idea of the proportions; I never tried the recipe. And I didn't even know what charoseth was then. The idea just came from a bottle of mulled wine spice I found at the local Albertson's (which is now closed). It was those same spices I mentioned. Smelled like it would be good for apple pie too. So the idea came to me that way. Citron reminds me too much of fruit cake, so I shy away from it, but I guess you could use it too. And I forgot about apple pie often being shortened with lard. But it's pareve if it uses Crisco I guess.

Got the idea from Virginia baked ham, which is nice and crusty because it's glazed with brown sugar. And of course "honey ham" (and turkey) can be found in any American supermarket. ~Danny~
