If you prepare your text in MS Word first (as I do), I can suggest you a nice
little tool that converts your text from or to Unicode. It is called BabelPad,
and you can download it free from <http://uk.geocities.com/BabelStone1357/> .
The other utility you can find on that page, BabelMap, is also worth to have a
look at.
