Randon mentions like the above. czHANg is a reliable source too,
even if his likes don't always match mine. There are lots of websites too,
of various unheard-of CD producers, that one can stumble across.

Modern? Modern? You mean Stravinsky? Shostáckovich or Próckofife?
(As I've heard them called.......). I used to rely on the radio station of
a certain large Midwestern University-- from late 80s to 7/1/96 they had a
brilliant "host" (well, classical DJ) who played EVERYTHING, including
occasional bits of his own work, with intelligent commentary...... Alas, on
7/1/96, that station summarily fired all its music people, and joined the
relentless march toward NPR's all-talk format. Aaaack. At fund-raising
time, I like to let them know why I no longer contribute, and point out that
since 96, I've probably spent $500-1000 per year on CDs (not that I ever
contributed that much!)
