Ah, tack! That's different from English, then. In English it's perfectly acceptable to say "It has been a long time...". (Speaking of tense, you should have used "You seem to be saying..." :-))

I almost wrote "fortfarande", but somehow it sounded too 'heavy' to go in between "jag" and "förstår". How about "än"? Would that also be too formal/poetic? Matt.
