    BTW composer Tan Dun (_Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon_, _Ghost Opera_, On
Taoism_, etc.) has done his own _hommage_ of Bach's Passion.
    I am willing to bet the emphasis in Tan Dun's version is on a humanistic*
(or even neo-Confucianist) _why_ and not so much on the specifics of _who-
shall-be-the-scapegoat(s)_.

    * prob'ly something along the lines of "we human beings suffer and sin
cuz we are out of balance with _every thing_ around us and that we are
complacent about who and what exists around us" and we tend to ignore, shun and even
kill the messengers of such profound ideas and ideals

    ROTFLMAO, Gibson's kink is the pornography of violence IMHO much like the
late Johnny "Wadd" Holmes' life & death was an exercise in excess, wallowing
in the violence of pornography and drugs. Both Holmes and Gibson are
Americanized "products" or at least the products of immature cultures with Wild
Frontier mythos and "_youth_ subcultures"...

    Well I recall Gibson's looong lovin'ly filmed torture and death scene in
_Braveheart_ being waaaay too "ego-messianic" for me to take (besides all the
liberties he took with historical facts *grrrowlsssnarrrllssppputtterrr!*
which is something that seriously offends the history-obsessed Chinese in me: he
should get it right, it's his possible ancestral heritage for bloody sakes!).

    After Gibson's Passion started being hyped BigTime, I thought back to the
torture and death scene in _Braveheart_ and his other movies and figured
Gibson is a bit twisted towards the sado-masochistic Penitent spectrum of
Catholicism (any further Paleo-Conservative and he'd be one of those legendary
Christianized Viking Pagan Beserkirs. "Scratch the Christian and find the Pagan
underneath...").  Also I find it odd that Gibson was/is a carpenter (grant you a
skilled, union-level carpenter)... Its made me wonder if he's a self-mutilator
like me and needs some serious psychotherapy and psych meds like I do, hehe...

    Good thing I am just a Lil Trickstergod Incarnate happiest left in the
shadows and not some BigTime-Hollywood-Messiah-Wanna-Be grabbin' limelights and
