I don't believe they are meant as derogatory, exactly, but merely a natural
aversion to a certain point of view. I mean, a left-winger is certainly
going to feel that a right-winger has 'inferior' political views, just as a
right winger would a left-winger. Personally, I'm a left wing Christian, so
everybody hates/loves me ;-)
Actually, I wonder why right-wing politics and christianity seem to go hand
in hand so often...
