Incidentally, one of my invented recipes involves marinating apples (and raisins, dried cranberries, dates, almonds, whatever you want) in a mixture of sweet red wine (kosher wine would work well), allspice, cloves, orange and lemon peel, cinnamon and some other things, then bake the mixture in a pie, and finally glaze with honey or caramel. The fruit and wine mixture of course is known as charoset (or charoses), the traditional Passover favorite, so this is a type of "charoset pie". (That's why I suggested the kosher wine.) I might make this a Techian food item, since at one time a very large number of Elves were converts to Judaism. Still need a Tech name for this.... I also have an idea for an Elven recipe for leg of lamb rubbed in various herbs and spices and glazed with honey. ~Danny~
