To be taken in the context of my ponderous reflexions about IAL
phonologies...

Suppose I introduce myself and utter my name with my fairly standard
Russian accent. How an Esperantist knowing nothing about Russian should
render in Esperanto what s/he heard?

No Esperanto grammar helps to answer this question, AFAIK. Still worse
with the other IALs I am familiar with. Oskar's system could be an
exception: he tries to define the 'normal' variation for his phonemes
from the very start.
