Heh--almost the *same* thing the info sheet for the first day of *my*
Phonetics & Phonology class at college today, except she handed it out
near the beginning of class and it asked for major. (I was the only math
major, but there were a few from comp sci interested in NLP.)

<laugh> You were brave. I just wrote a brief list of linguistics texts
I'd read (as an excuse for not taking Linguistics 101, I guess) and that
I was interested in linguistics. It's sort of like being a sf/f writer:
you're never sure whether it's a socially acceptable reason for wanting
to take a class...!
